FYI: M-40 problem

Hi
I have a M-40 that has ceased to ##### the trigger (sear problem?), when fired and cycled. A new round is chambered but the trigger does not #####. My local gunsmith says that the sear is a part of the body and can not be repaired. Is this the case. I like the pistol and would like to be able to continue to use it.
