FYI: Steyr Mannlicher In Austria Is Sold!! Good News

This is good news for Steyr Mannlicher owners, Steyr company will remain in Austria and the new owner has commited to listen to its customers and give them what they want. Bringing Respect back to Steyr Mannlicher, Customer service and new products is top on his list.

His comment when asked about an American made Steyr AUG, "one of the items on top of our list"

Austrian Steyr Mannlicher Sold to Franz Holzschuh

Wolfgang Fuerlinger, owner of Austrian firearm producer Steyr Mannlicher, has sold the company to management consultant Franz Holzschuh, it was reported on January 29, 2007. The 150-year old Steyr Mannlicher has 100 employees and generated about 11 mln euro ($14.2 mln) turnover in 2006. It has branches in the United States and Malaysia. Steyr Mannlicher produces hunting and sporting weapons under the brand Mannlicher and weapons for law enforcement under Steyr Arms.

Holzschuh has been active in international industry and trade. He was also responsible for the introduction of U.S. coffee shop chain Starbucks in Austria. The new owner of Steyr Mannlicher said the Austrian headquarters would be retained. Fuerlinger will withdraw from the company, but will be at disposal as a consultant.
