WTK: SSG 69 PII barrel lengths?

I have a SSG 69 PII with a 23 1/4" barrel as measured from the shoulder of the receiver. Is this the correct way to measure barrel length? Some one had said that the lengths were 20" or 26". Am I measuring the wrong dimensions or what?
